WOW 2.0 Registration is open

April 10th | Shelton State Community College

WOW 2.0 is for high school seniors interested in interviewing for entry-level full- and part-time positions. If you are a high school senior who wishes to enter the workforce full-time following graduation, or you would like to work part-time while attending college, you should attend. Students will interview with at least three companies. These are not mock interviews, so be prepared. Companies who participate in WOW 2.0 must offer contingent job offers to the students. 

WOW 2.0 will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Shelton State Community College.

What is Worlds of Work?

Worlds of Work creates awareness about exciting career options among students and educators while addressing workforce needs in the region. Existing employers in the region continue to have unfilled job openings due to a shortage of skilled workers. WOW helps companies find potential workers and students find paths to success.

West Alabama Works, Region 3 Workforce Development Council

WOW is a project of West AlabamaWorks!, Region 3 Workforce Development Council and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. WOW is a fun, educational, hands-on opportunity for students to become familiar with a broad overview of high demand, high wage career opportunities available in the area.

Students in West Alabama Works’ nine-county region, which includes Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties, can attend the expo.  WOW includes “worlds,” or industry sectors, that students have the opportunity to explore through exciting activities.  For more information on the “worlds” click on the icons below.
