Logging Equipment Operator

Logging equipment operators are the backbone of the forestry industry. Equipment operators run machines like skidders, feller bunchers, loaders, and dozers. Their duties include assessing sites and terrain, and cutting, moving, and loading felled trees onto trucks using machines.

Logging is one of the most important parts of forest management, and a good equipment operator knows how to maximize benefit to the landowner and increase forest health. Logging has come a long way since the chainsaw days of the past – almost all logging operations now are entirely mechanized, and most loggers never even touch a chainsaw.
