The Event…

Designed for high school juniors and seniors, WOW 2.0 allows young adults to engage with employers and colleges, even interviewing for part-time and full-time jobs. Held at Shelton State Community College, WOW 2.0 continues a student’s future, whether they choose college or career after graduation.

Industry Leaders: Are you looking for employees? If you hire recent high school graduates, WOW 2.0 is the ideal event for you! Interview an array of candidates in one day, and West Alabama Works’ staff will handle applications, credentials and resumes. Not hiring, but want to be involved? You can apply to be an exhibitor at WOW 2.0 — College and Career Day. Deadline to register: Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Register your company here.

Colleges: Showcase your school to perspective students at College and Career Day. High school juniors from West Alabama will travel to Shelton State Community College to learn more about your school and programs. WOW 2.0 has two components, WOW 2.0 and WOW 2.0 – College and Career Day.

WOW 2.0 

High school seniors and post-secondary students will participate in scheduled interviews with business and industry. Students must register individually to attend and guarantee an interview; each student is guaranteed one interview. A human resources panel of business professionals will view your application (the form below) and determine who will interview you. This day is only for seniors who are interested in interviewing for full- or part-time employment following high school graduation. It is not for those interested in a mock interview. Schools will be assigned times.

TIME: Schools will be assigned times.
WHERE: Shelton State Community College Martin Campus
WHO: Senior high school and postsecondary students from Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties.

SENIORS: Register here. You cannot attend WOW 2.0 without completing this form. You must print a copy for the event.

WOW 2.0 – College and Career Day

Juniors from the 9 county Region will have the opportunity to meet with post-secondary schools and industries. Seniors who have not decided on a college plan are also able to attend, but they must register using the junior link below. This event is an excellent opportunity for students to explore the high growth, high demand jobs available in West Alabama and will be able to speak with post-secondary schools, as well as meet with industry-professionals in a job fair setting.

TIME: Schools will be assigned times.
WHERE: Shelton State Community College Martin Campus
WHO: Eleventh grade students from Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties.

SCHOOLS: Register your school here. This is for bus number purposes.

STUDENTS: Register here. Deadline: April 4. This is your permission form for the field trip and will allow colleges you’re interested in to contact you. You cannot enter College and Career Day without this.
